New Club for a New Year

With a recent increase in pupil numbers within Kaeshi Ryu, the timing has felt right for an extra club to start come the New Year. This new club will operate from the Tollgate Hotel, the same location as the current Thursday club. It will first open it's doors Monday the 19th of January, and will only be open to seniors.

Christmas and New Years Opening Times

Christmas is here again, which inevitably means that the club will have to shut for a few weeks. The Beaconside club has already closed its doors for Christmas, and will reopen again on the 6th of January. For a full list of dates, see below.

Jujitsu Seminar - A Review

Last Saturday, a few of us travelled over to Biddulph for the annual C.K.K Bu-Jutsu Kai Christmas Jujitsu and Kobudo seminar. Overall it was a fantastic day. Shihan Ken Culshaw, Sensei Billy Frickleton and Sensei Stuart Gower, along with all the club's students made us feel very welcome.

The morning consisted of a very direct and effective set of Jujitsu techniques, followed by an afternoon session of Jo and Bo maneurvers. I would recommend their seminar's to anyone, and I hope this is the beginning of a long lasting partnership between the schools. Thank you to all who took part.

Grading Results - The Friday Club

Last night was the first grading of the new Stafford club, and I was very impressed with how all students performed. Sensei Rich attended the grading to ensure standards were being enforced, and he too commented on the high grade of all students participating.

Jujitsu Seminar

his weekend the C.K.K Bu-Jutsu Kai will be holding their annual Christmas Ju Jitsu and Kobudo seminar with Shihan Ken Culshaw 7th Dan. The seminar is over 2 days (Saturday the 6th and Sunday the 7th). The price for both days is £25, or £15 for each day. For juniors the price is £15 for both days or £10 each.

Quoted from the invitation, "Shihan Culshaw will be teaching a blend of modern and traditional Ju Jitsu techniques providing a unique insight into the Welham Martial Arts syllabus and will be also demonstrating applications from his Kobudo system."

It promises to be a fantastic seminar, and I'm hoping many of you will be able to attend. Sensei Rich and myself will be attending, so do not think you will be alone.
